Reports
Every click you make in Sevenledger — every invoice, bill, and expense — is quietly building a goldmine of business intelligence. The Reports module is where all that data comes to life.
Whether you need a polished summary for a bank loan or a deep-dive into exactly which product is driving the most revenue, these reports give you the clarity to make smarter, faster decisions.
Generating a Report
Every report starts with one simple question: “What happened during this specific time?”
Hit the Customize Report button at the top left of any report screen to get started.
- Select Your Date Range: Pick the exact period you want to analyze. Sevenledger fully supports the Nepali date system (e.g.,
2082-04-01to2083-03-32), so your financial years always align with local tax regulations. - Generate: Click to refresh and pull data for your selected range.
Financial Statements
These are the “Big Three” — the reports that tell you the complete story of your business’s financial health.
1. Profit & Loss (Income Statement)
The answer to: “Are we actually making money?”
- Operating Income: Your total sales revenue at the top.
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): Deducted from revenue to reveal your Gross Profit — the real margin on what you sell.
- Operating Expenses: Everything it costs to keep the lights on — “Meals and Entertainment,” “Delivery Charges,” and more.
- Net Profit/Loss: The bottom line. This is your actual profit after every single cost is accounted for.
2. Balance Sheet
A snapshot of your financial position at a single point in time: “What do we own, and what do we owe?”
- Assets: Includes your Stock inventory value, Accounts Receivable (money customers still owe you), and liquid cash in Bank/Cash accounts.
- Liabilities: Debts like Accounts Payable (money you owe vendors) and other current obligations.
3. Trial Balance
This one’s primarily for your accountants. It lists the closing balances of every single ledger account to verify that Debits equal Credits — the starting point for clean year-end audits.
Sales & Performance Reports
Want to know what’s actually driving your revenue? These reports break it down.
Sales by Item
Find your best-sellers and expose your slow movers.
- Columns: Quantity Sold, Average Price, and Total Amount — all at a glance.
- Power Features:
- Explode All: Expand every item to reveal the specific invoices behind those sales (e.g.,
#INV-26-82/83accounted for 1,000 units of a single product). - Suspicious Only: A smart toggle that highlights transactions deviating from the norm. It’s your early warning system for errors or fraud.
- Explode All: Expand every item to reveal the specific invoices behind those sales (e.g.,
Sales by Customer
See exactly who your top clients are. This report ranks customers by Gross Sales, making it easy to identify VIP clients who deserve a loyalty discount or extra attention.
Expense by Category
A clear breakdown of where your money is going — “Meals and Entertainment” vs. “Ecommerce Delivery” — so you can spot areas to cut costs or double down on investment.
Audit & Detail Reports
Day Book
The Day Book is a chronological log of every financial event entered on a specific day — invoices, payments received, bills, and journal entries, all in order. Use it to double-check your daily data entry before wrapping up for the day.
General Ledger Report
This is the most detailed report in the system. It shows the complete history of every transaction for every account — Debit, Credit, and Running Balance. When you need to investigate exactly why an account balance is what it is, this is where you go.
Exporting Your Data
Need to send reports to your auditor or crunch numbers in a spreadsheet?
- Print: Generates a print-ready version of the current view.
- Download: Exports the raw data as CSV/Excel for external analysis.
Pro Tip: Seeing negative numbers in your Cash or Inventory assets on the Balance Sheet? Check your Day Book — you likely recorded a payment or shipment before logging the initial deposit or purchase!
